Ladies Philoptochos
Philoptochos is a Greek word which means “friends of the poor” – not only poor in financial resources, but also the poor in spirit, the poor in health, the poor in companionship, and the poor in emotional stability.
About
The charitable work of the Society shall be performed with discretion, courtesy and kindness. Our emphasis is to help our fellow parishioners and our local Kitchener-Waterloo Region. We strive to do this through regular Church-wide community service projects and other events, including the following: Angel Tree of Hope Project, Fellowship Luncheons, and outreach to local hospitals, shelters, and food banks.

From the Ladies Philoptochos President,

By the Grace of God and the continuous spiritual guidance and love our Priest, Father Anatoliy, the Ladies of Philoptochos have been very busy planning and organizing events and activities throughout the year. Our goal is to provide support to people and programs within our Church Community and Waterloo Region at large, as well as address the needs of our Church and our Holy Metropolis obligations.

I wish to wholeheartedly thank all of our members of the Ladies Philoptochos, whose continued support and hard work have made our philanthropic mission a success. I welcome all the ladies of our Church Community to become members of the Ladies Philoptochos and to help support us in this worthwhile cause.

Sincerely,
Constantina Govanis
